# Delete Skill

> Delete a skill from your tenant

DELETE /openapi/memorylake/api/v3/skills/{id}
```

Deletes a skill. Built-in skills cannot be deleted.

  **Permission required:** `skill:delete`
</Note>

<Warning>
  Agent versions that already reference this skill are not rewritten, and new agents and agent versions can no longer reference it.
</Warning>

Deleting a skill that does not exist, or was already deleted, also returns `200`, so a repeated delete is safe to retry.
